Today we welcome Holly, a total Mom like WHOA!
How old were you when you became a mom?
36. People thought my husband and I just weren’t going to have kids. Then when we finally had a child, some people assumed we had been trying and had to use IVF to conceive. But my husband and I were just too busy working and traveling.
Who makes you a mom?
I have two sons, 9 and 12.
What has been your fav age thus far?
I love that age when they’ve just learned to walk and talk. Everything is new to them. There are a lot of “firsts.”
Ever looked back and regretted the stress you caused your own mom?
Not at all. Well, maybe just on days we had to go to the laundromat.
What is your biggest fear/hope for your kids?
That they would get a face tattoo. Seriously, I think the worst thing is that they wouldn’t live up to their potential or that they would give up hope about life.
Want to share parenting high, a parenting low, or both? Or a fav mom moment?
I think I need some perspective for this — maybe ask me in 10 years!
How do you take time for you?
Naps! Also, I work out when the kids are in school. I’ve done 8 half-marathons.
Other than your kids – what are you most proud of?
The things I’m most proud of — because they were either incredibly difficult or were a lot of work — are putting myself through college, writing a book (“30 Eco-Trips in Florida: The Best Nature Excursions (and How to Leave Only Your Footprints”), and breastfeeding my boys until they were two and a half.
